Developing the readiness of logistics officers to control the quality of fuel and lubricants in their professional competence system

Abstract

The article is devoted to substantiating the importance of the physical, chemical and operational properties of fuel and lubricants in shaping the professional competence of rear officers of state border guard agencies. The authors emphasise that the quality of fuel and lubricants is a critical factor in combat readiness and trouble-free operation of equipment, and therefore their control requires officers not only to know the regulatory documents, but also to have practical skills in sampling, the use of laboratory methods and rapid analysis. Based on an analysis of the requirements of the Statutes of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and the guiding documents of the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine, contradictions have been identified between the normative nature of training and the real needs of units operating in combat conditions where there is no stationary laboratory base. The types of tests for fuel and lubricants, the procedure for their application, and the relationship between physical and chemical parameters (viscosity, fractional composition, flash point, pour point, etc.) and the operational reliability of equipment are considered in detail. The authors argue that an officer's ability to make decisions on the suitability of fuel for use directly depends on the development of SKs24 competence, which includes mastery of methods for controlling physical and chemical properties.
Substantiates the need to modernise the content of the educational and professional programme "Organisation of the Activities of the Support Units of the State Border Guard Service" by integrating practically oriented modules that simulate the real conditions of combat operation of equipment. The directions for further research are formulated: the creation of a mobile laboratory kit, the digitisation of fuel and lubricant quality control, and the development of case methods for future officers.
We see the prospect of further research in the need to develop and improve the educational and methodological support of educational and professional programmes for training logistics officers and professional training programmes for junior specialists in the fuel and lubricant supply service.
